Preview: Watch Dynamic Radar in Action
Objective
Guide aircraft safely through the airspace by selecting them and setting appropriate headings and altitudes to ensure they reach their designated waypoints without collisions.
How It Works
This game simulates air traffic control operations by requiring you to monitor multiple aircraft simultaneously, assess their trajectories, and make timely adjustments to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow. You need to understand spatial relationships between aircraft, anticipate potential conflicts, and make strategic decisions about routing and separation.
Step-by-step Instructions
- Monitor multiple aircraft moving through a circular radar display
- Click on an aircraft to select it and view its call sign (e.g., BAW 1234)
- Use the control panel to set new headings and altitudes for selected aircraft
- Direct aircraft to reach their assigned waypoints
- Prevent aircraft from colliding with each other by maintaining safe separation
- Respond to audio cues by entering the correct numbers when prompted
Skills You Develop
- Multi-tasking and divided attention
- Spatial awareness and collision detection
- Strategic planning and prioritization
- Decision making under time pressure
- Understanding of heading, altitude, and position relationships
- Audio recognition and response
Coaching Tips
- Scan the entire radar regularly to identify potential conflicts early
- Prioritize aircraft that are on collision courses
- Use altitude separation when aircraft must cross paths
- Plan aircraft routes to efficiently reach their waypoints
- Remember that changes take time to implement - aircraft don't turn instantly
- Listen carefully for audio cues and respond promptly
