Pilot Preparation Is Now Available on ATC Preparation
ATC Preparation provides preparation software for air traffic controller selection tests and for airline pilot aptitude assessments. You can practise the tasks, see your scores, and use the feedback to prepare for the assessment in front of you.
The pilot section is open with Aon (formerly cut-e) and Symbiotics ADAPT. PILAPT, COMPASS, FAST, and TestAir360 are assessments we plan to add. There is no date for those yet.

One of the Aon practice tasks. Two grids follow a rule. You choose the two others that follow it.
Air traffic controller test preparation
ATC Preparation has practice software for several air traffic controller selection assessments.
FEAST preparation is for the EUROCONTROL selection tests, and for employers that use the same battery, including NAV CANADA.
ATSA preparation is for candidates taking the FAA's air traffic skills assessment.
SureSelect preparation is for controller hiring in Australia, New Zealand, and other countries.
NATS preparation is for trainee air traffic controller recruitment in the United Kingdom.
Each assessment has its own format. The software is built for that test, not as one generic set for every employer.
Airline pilot aptitude test preparation
Airlines use aptitude assessments for pilot training programmes and cadet schemes. Depending on the assessment, the tasks cover attention, memory, reasoning, and spatial ability, usually on a clock.
Aon is one provider candidates meet. Aon bought cut-e, which is why both names still show up in invitations and in candidate reports. Aon practice is a set of timed tasks, with a score at the end of each one. In the training hub you also get performance statistics, a comparison with other candidates, and a recommendation for what to practise next.
One task asks you to count moving balls inside a circle. Another asks you to pick the grids that follow the same rule. Those are two of the tasks. The set covers more than that.
The tasks are original practice we wrote for ATC Preparation. They are there so you can work under a time limit before the real assessment. They are not items from a live Aon test, and the pages are not published by Aon or by an airline.
Symbiotics ADAPT is the other pilot assessment with practice on the site now. It is a different battery from Aon. The invitation decides which one you are sitting.
More pilot assessments are planned
Aon and ADAPT are the pilot assessments you can practise today. We are working on a wider set. The ones we plan to add are:
- PILAPT
- COMPASS
- FAST
- TestAir360
The pilot page lists what is available and what candidates report meeting in airline recruitment. When a battery is ready, the practice for that battery goes on its own page.
If your invitation names Aon, cut-e, or ADAPT, you can start now. If it names PILAPT, COMPASS, FAST, or TestAir360, practice for that test is not on the site yet.
One site for both
Controller selection and airline pilot recruitment use different assessments. Both are timed, and the practice has to match the test you were invited to.
ATC Preparation keeps both on one site: the controller suites, and pilot practice for the assessments we have built so far. You get a score, a comparison with other candidates, and a next task to work on.
