NAV Canada selection is typically a two-stage cognitive path before later interviews and assessment centre work. Stage 1 is a timed online assessment completed remotely. Stage 2 is a full-day in-person computer-based session at a regional Area Control Centre by invitation. Invitations to Stage 2 can take weeks or months after Stage 1, and testing dates are scheduled in limited windows throughout the year.

NAV Canada publishes that in-person testing sessions typically require one full day, approximately six hours, and are held at regional area control centres.
