Introduction
Stay Alert is a vigilance module in the FEAST Preparation Suite. A target keeps jumping inside a marked area for the whole session. Most jumps are short. You respond only when one jump covers twice that distance.
The task
The target is a dot that changes position at a steady rhythm. A normal jump is a short step. A double jump uses the same kind of move and covers twice the distance. The two look alike except for how far the dot travels, so you judge the length of each jump against the ones you have already seen.
Press DOUBLE JUMP when the jump is the long one. Pressing it after a normal jump counts as a false alarm. If a double jump happens and the answer window closes before you press, that jump counts as missed. The target keeps moving either way, so one late or extra press does not stop the session.
Difficulty runs from EASY, through Medium and Hard, to TEST. The task stays the same throughout. Watch every jump, leave the short ones alone, and answer the long ones in time.

Priorities
Let a few normal jumps pass so the short distance is clear, then keep that length as your reference. Answer as soon as a jump is clearly longer. A press on a short jump and a missed long jump both count, so the useful habit is a steady watch across the whole session rather than reacting to every movement.
The in-module walkthrough shows a still target, a normal jump, and a double jump before the session starts. Detect Conflicts, Divided Attention, and Distinguish Left and Right are other FEAST I modules in the suite. A broader overview is available in FEAST Modules Explained.
