Introduction
Memory Competence is a sequence-memory module in the FEAST Preparation Suite. Boxes on a grid light up one after another. You then click those same boxes in the order they flashed.
The task
The board has nine boxes, three across and three down. During the showing phase the prompt is “Remember the order of boxes.” The boxes flash one at a time. The same box can flash more than once. Do not click yet. What you have to keep is the order, including any repeat.
The board then switches to guessing. The prompt is “Click boxes in the same order.” Start with the first box in the sequence and continue until every flash has been replayed. A click on the wrong box ends the round immediately. Letting the answer window close before the sequence is finished also ends the round as incorrect. You cannot repair a wrong click inside the same round.
Difficulty runs from EASY, through Medium and Hard, to TEST. The task stays the same throughout. Watch the flashes, then replay the full order from the start.
Priorities
Follow the flashes as a path, not as a set of boxes that lit up. A box that flashes twice has to be clicked twice, in the places where it appeared. During guessing, start at the first flash even if a later box is easier to remember. One wrong box stops the round, so finish the order you stored rather than guessing the next step.
