Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced English language examiner to join our team at ATC Preparation. This role is crucial in assessing and evaluating future air traffic controllers by conducting specialized English proficiency examinations tailored to aviation communication requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and administering comprehensive English language assessments that meet international aviation standards, including Level 4 (B1-B2 CEFR) proficiency requirements for the FEAST selection process. You will evaluate motivated candidates who are preparing for careers in air traffic control.

Beyond traditional assessment, you will create and oversee high-pressure examination environments that simulate the intensity and unpredictability of real-world air traffic control scenarios. Your evaluations will test candidates' ability to think, speak, and respond under pressure-ensuring they demonstrate the confidence, clarity, and precision essential for success in aviation communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct standardized aviation English proficiency examinations for air traffic control candidates
  • Evaluate speaking, listening, and comprehension skills against Level 4 (B1-B2 CEFR) requirements for FEAST selection process and internal benchmarks
  • Document assessment outcomes and maintain detailed, compliant examination records
  • Deliver individual feedback reports to candidates and partnering training teams
  • Collaborate with fellow examiners to calibrate scoring and uphold assessment consistency
  • Monitor industry guidance to ensure testing materials stay aligned with aviation English standards
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of examination content, rubrics, and procedures

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Master's degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of English language teaching experience
  • Native English proficiency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Aviation industry knowledge or certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aviation English or ESP (English for Specific Purposes)
  • Knowledge of aviation English language proficiency requirements (Level 4 B1-B2 CEFR for FEAST selection process)
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and digital tools
  • Background in adult education or professional training
