Turkish Airlines Continues Fleet Expansion, Eyes 500 Aircraft by September 2025

Airline aims for significant fleet growth, targeting 500 aircraft by September 2025, and continues discussions with major manufacturers.
Turkish Airlines is progressing toward an impressive fleet target of 500 aircraft by September 2025. This substantial expansion initiative reflects the carrier's commitment to enhancing its worldwide footprint and operational capabilities. Although a previously announced significant Boeing purchase was temporarily suspended, the airline is now resuming discussions with Boeing to complete further aircraft orders. The carrier aims to sustain an evenly distributed mix of Boeing and Airbus planes. This accelerated expansion, which brought the fleet to 400 aircraft by 2024, forms part of an overarching objective to operate approximately 813 aircraft by the airline's centennial celebration in 2033, while expanding service to more than 300 destinations globally. Turkish Airlines' advantageous position in Istanbul establishes it as a vital connection point between continents, requiring a substantial and contemporary aircraft fleet.
