Emirates will introduce upgraded Boeing 777 cabins to eight additional destinations, expanding its ambitious retrofit programme.

  • New deployments cover Lisbon, Dublin, Hong Kong, Male, Kolkata, Colombo, Johannesburg and Cape Town
  • By September, renovated Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft will operate to 44 cities with more than 379 weekly departures
Dubai, UAE, 25 March 2025: Emirates will deploy Boeing 777 aircraft featuring modernized cabins to eight additional cities across its network, as the carrier's refurbishment initiative advances rapidly, completing a full aircraft renovation every three weeks. The airline targets service to 44 destinations with its renewed Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 fleet by September 2025.
Emirates is upgrading Boeing 777 service with improved passenger amenities to these destinations:
  • Beginning 1 June 2025, all Lisbon services will feature modernized Boeing 777 cabins on flights EK 191/192 and EK 193/194.
  • Dublin will receive Emirates' new Business and Premium Economy offerings on EK 161/162, launching 25 June.
  • Hong Kong, SAR becomes the second destination in China to receive retrofitted Emirates Boeing 777 service on EK 382/383 from 15 July.
  • Passengers flying to the Maldives will experience updated cabin interiors on EK 658/659 beginning 1 June, plus EK 656/657 and EK 660/661 from 15 July.
  • Renovated Boeing 777 aircraft will serve Kolkata from 10 August on EK 572/573 with four weekly departures (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
  • Colombo will receive Boeing 777s with refreshed cabins from 10 August on daily EK 650/651 service, supplementing the carrier's recently launched A350 flights to Sri Lanka's capital.
  • Emphasizing South Africa's vital role as a key African hub, Emirates will introduce Premium Economy and renovated Business Class cabins for the first time to Johannesburg and Cape Town. Johannesburg receives the upgraded Boeing 777 on daily EK 765/766 from 1 September and EK 761/762 from 25 September. Cape Town will feature the new interiors on daily EK 770/771 beginning 20 September.
Furthermore, London Stansted will gain a second daily flight with modernized Boeing 777 cabins on EK 067/068 from 1 June.

Emirates has broadened its Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 renovation program to encompass over 220 aircraft, constituting the aviation sector's largest retrofit initiative—a US$5 billion commitment focused on providing superior products and outstanding passenger experiences throughout its international network.
Renovated Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft feature a four-cabin layout, showcasing Emirates' distinctive Premium Economy and carefully crafted Business Class sections. Emirates' Boeing 777 Business Class provides seating in a 1-2-1 configuration, delivering privacy, direct aisle access and adequate space for productivity, relaxation and quality rest.
Upgraded Boeing 777s contain 24 well-received Premium Economy seats alongside 260 Economy Class seats.
