NATS: Monitoring Ability

Back to NATS Preparation Suite

Introduction

Monitoring Ability is a Stage 1 module in the NATS Preparation Suite. Balls move inside a circle. You count them and enter that number before the session clock runs out.

The task

Each question shows a fresh set of balls moving in the circle. Count them, then click that number or type it. The choices on screen include the right count.

The set shares one clock. A correct count and a wrong count both use time, and a question you do not answer before the clock ends is missed. A level may pause after an answer and show whether the count was right, or start the next set at once.

The balls cross, change speed, and have to be counted while they move.

Count the balls in the circle, then press that number. The clock covers the whole set.

Priorities

Sweep the circle in one direction and count once, rather than restarting every time two balls cross. Answer as soon as the count is stable. A second pass is useful when balls overlap, and it costs time you need for the questions still left. When the next set starts at once, keep the same counting path from one question to the next.

The in-module walkthrough shows a still set and the button for that count before the clock starts. Symbol Match, Ability to Concentrate, and Motion Challenge are other Stage 1 modules in the suite. A broader overview is available in NATS Test Explained.
